Feelin' Frugal: High Value Coupons

I’m not going to shock anyone by suggesting that coupons can save money.  If you agree that coupons save money then you don’t need me to explain it all to you!  If you tend to think that coupons are a waste of time that will only save you pennies, then I have a message for you:

Not all coupons are “Save $0.25 on 3” for a product you’ve never bought before!

Sometimes it can feel like you have to buy more than what you really need in order to cash in on coupons.  Sometimes it can feel like coupons are only for brand new products or things you don’t normally use.  Sometimes it can feel like taking the time to clip the coupons isn’t worth the amount that you save.

If clipping coupons really just isn’t your thing, it can still be worth your time to keep your eyes open for high value coupons.

Just last week Nate & I enjoyed a great supper of salad and FREE pizza!  Since we bought a house this summer we received several promotions & coupons that are targeted to new home owners in the neighborhood.  One of the fliers we received in the mail was for a free small pizza from a local shop.  Plus we got TWO copies of that flier!

A couple of months ago I came across a coupon for $10 off a $10 purchase at JCPenny.  I have seen that coupon in the past, but I always ignored it because a trip to the mall just wasn’t in my future.  I am so glad I used it this time!  I found an awesome pair of ear rings for $18.  Lucky for me, they were also on sale!  By using my coupon with the sale I ended up saving $17.20!  $18 ear rings for just $0.80?  Yes, please!!

It it certainly worth it to keep your eyes open for high value coupons!  Next week I’ll give you tips on how to find great high value coupons.
