Using My Smart Phone to Create Good Habits & Get Things Done

Good Habits Smart Phone App

I have come a long way with my iPhone.  My husband surprised me with it this past fall and I freaked out – in a bad way!  Now?  I love my smart phone!

One reason why I love my smart phone is because it is helping me create good daily habits and get things done.  I’ve been using the Good Habits app and love it!  Plus it is free!!

Good Habits is an extremely simple app that helps you keep track of daily tasks.   I’ve been using mine to keep me on track with a couple of my Insane Goals for this year.  Everyday I open the app and check off each of the tasks that I get done that day.  The goal is to go for as long as possible with out missing a single day.

In the picture above you can see how I’ve been doing.  I had currently read to Noah 2 days in a row, but my longest streak was 13 days in a row.  I’ve been doing much better with Grace’s daily devotional reading and haven’t missed a day since I started.

Other Good Habits Features:

  • Set reminders
  • Go back and edit previous days
  • Calendar views that show you which days you’ve missed for each task

I love this app because it is super simple.  It reinforces good habits and helps me stay focused.  Plus when I open my app to check off one task, it is a visual reminder of the other things I need to do that day.

What are your favorite productivity apps?  Do you have a different method for keeping track of daily tasks?

  1. My Fitness Pal is another great one. It tracks caloric intake, water intake, and exercise. LOVE IT! I’ll look up Good Habits… it looks like one I could use, too.

  2. I love Swipes! It’s a to do list so I can just dump it on my phone and then it reminds me when I tell it to. Also, there’s a snooze button for 3 hours or the next day or any other time you choose. I feel like i forget less things because I’m trying to remember less. Also, I am such a procrastinator! 🙂 I’m gonna check out good habits. I just added it to swipes since I don’t have time to look at it now… 🙂

      1. yes, but after a while, say, at the end of August, you notice that you still haven’t printed your son’s birthday pictures. And his birthday was in April….They’re getting printed tonight. 🙂 I still have good habits on my swipes…
