Thank you to everyone who entered my Healthy Baby Home Party Giveaway! The lucky winner of the coupons and samples from Seventh Generation & Stoneyfield Yogurt is…
Based on what Miriam said in her comment, it sounds like she’ll take full advantage of the samples and coupons! She tries to keep everything for her baby organic and natural – even her tooth brush! Miriam, you’ll have to fill me in on the details about this tooth brush!! I have several friends that use cloth diapers, one friend who makes her own deodorant and even a friend that uses soap nuts instead of laundry detergent, but I’ve never heard of a natural tooth brush! Correction: When I was in India, this lady was selling extremely natural tooth brushes along the side of the road. However, I highly doubt that is what you are using a stick for your little girl!
I really love the last thing Miriam said, “I have to admit it can be a little costly and exhausting trying to make sure her things are safe, but it’s very worth it to me, and yes some people probably think I’m alittle over the top (crazy:) ) but it’s what I feel is best for her.”
I think we would all be a little more green if it wasn’t so costly and exhausting! I personally would like to have more green and organic products/food in my home, but making that happen isn’t always easy. Number one, it seems like those things cost more. The frugal lover in me makes it really hard for me to dish out the extra dough. Number two, it isn’t always very convenient to shop green. My regular grocery store doesn’t sell a lot of organic produce and you can just forget about all natural bath & body products!! Lastly, it is hard to always know what to avoid buying. There are a ton of chemicals out there that aren’t great for us, but remembering what is safe and what isn’t can feel like studying for a chemistry midterm!
When I start to get frustrated about all this I try to remind myself that all it takes is one small change. I don’t have to change everything all at once. One little change after another can make a big difference.
Thanks again to everyone that entered the giveaway. And please pass along any tips for the small green & organic changes that you are making in your life! I love learning from a friend!
