Part of my Insane List of Goals for 2011 is to conquer some of the rooms of my house. Although we moved into our new home in June, there are several areas that aren’t fully unpacked or organized how we want them. In January I worked on the mud room.
I love before and after pictures so I thought I would share some with you. The only thing that really needed my attention was a shelving unit that was pretty out of control.

What I Did:
It might not look like I did all that much, but I was able to throw out several bottles of cleaner and I donated all of these to a homeless shelter.
I was able to get rid of so many cleaners because of the wonderful Shaklee organic cleaning products that I got for Christmas. I also organized the cleaners that I use on a regular basis by using a blue plastic caddy. I’m loving the convenience of carrying my cleaning caddy through the house! (Oh.my.word. Did I really just type that sentence??? I need to get out of the house more…)

What I Did:
Mostly, I put things away. *GASP* My hubby’s sunglasses and a left-over-from-summer swim diaper didn’t need to be in the mud room anymore. Plus I moved two bags full of empty baby food jars to the basement. When I was making my own baby food it was helpful to have them so close, but now they have been retired until the next baby.
I also purchased a small laundry basket for the random dirty rags, cloth napkins and hand towels that always seem to be littering the mud room.
It feels good to have one room crossed off my insane list of goals!
