For Grace’s birthday we decided to buy her a play kitchen. It seems like one of those classic toys that would last through out all of our children and get hours worth of play.
First it took hours to put together.
It didn’t help that we had to start over not once, but TWICE because I messed up the bottom piece. The directions could have been a little more clear. 😉
I was hoping that we would have it all set up and waiting for Grace when she woke up from her nap. However, her way-too-short nap time combined with the 13 pages of instructions that came along with the kitchen resulted in her seeing it before then. I wish you could have seen the look on her face when I explained to her what it was. She was so happy.
After it was finally finished Grace seemed unimpressed.
“Grace, do you like your kitchen?”
“Um, no kitchen.”
“What? Grace, do you like your kitchen?”
“No kitchen. Outside?”
Ughhh… Not exactly what we were hoping for. Thankfully, she does seem to truly like her kitchen. She has been playing with it a lot and I still see hope of us getting our money’s worth out of it.
This nearly $190 wooden kitchen made by KidKraft was on sale for $50 off. Plus I had $75 in Amazon gift cards that I got through Swagbucks. A brand new $190 wooden kitchen for only $65?? Yes, I’ll take that deal!
I can honestly say that we probably wouldn’t have gotten this kitchen if it hadn’t been for those gift cards I got from Swagbucks. If you’ve never heard of Swagbucks here is the deal:
Swagbucks is an online search engine and every time you search for something you have the chance to win points that they call swag bucks. I tend to win 7-12 swag bucks for every 4 searches that I do. Those swag bucks can then be redeemed in their online store. They have all kinds of things, but I usually stick with getting gift cards.
When I was pregnant with Grace I cashed in a bunch of my swag bucks for Target gift cards and bought $180 worth of maternity clothes. AWESOME!
If you sign up for Swagbucks right now, you can use the promotional code BIGTIMEBUCKS to add 100 swag bucks added to your account instantly. This code will be good until 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Monday, October 3, 2011.
Plus on Monday, Swagbucks is giving out seven different swag codes worth a total of 60 swag bucks. The first one will be given out on Twitter at 6:00 AM (Pacific Time).
Click here to sign up for Swagbucks today! You won’t regret it.
Today when I asked Grace is she liked her kitchen, this is what I got…
