Adorable and Affordable Owl Birthday Party Ideas

Grace turned 8 last year, and we celebrated with an adorable and affordable owl birthday party. (I am a little behind on sharing our birthday party fun here on the blog.) Birthday parties in our house are always land somewhere in between “Pinterest Perfect” and “Minimalist Fun.” I want our parties to have fun decorations, but I don’t want them to take a lot of time or cost a lot of money. This party definitely took more work than other parties I have put together. There were a few time consuming decorations that I made, but they were not hard to create. They just required some time. Thankfully, the decorations were still very affordable. … [Read more...]

An Awesome and Affordable Dinner Party Menu

October 13, 2014 by Rebekah Hoffer 7 Comments

For Grace's wedding birthday, I came up with a simple, delicious, and affordable dinner party menu. The meal was so well received that I wanted to share it with you. The main course was crock pot cheesy pasta and beef casserole from Tammilee Tips. This recipe is so much better than regular spaghetti. The homemade sauce makes all the difference. All of my guests went back for seconds! In the picture above, I used mozzarella cheese. The recipe calls for cheddar and, I like it better with cheddar. However, you can use whatever you have on hand. There were 10 adults and 6 children at the party. I doubled the pasta recipe, and we had a … [Read more...]

Grace in her Wedding Birthday Dress

This post contains affiliate links. Last year Grace went through a phase where she was obsessed with watching my wedding video. She would watch it multiple times a week. Because of Grace's love for weddings, my mom gave her a Melissa and Doug wedding dress for Christmas. That dressed sparked the idea in Grace's mind to have a wedding birthday party. Surprisingly, she stuck with the idea and this past weekend we had the big event for her 5th birthday. I sent out wedding … [Read more...]

Cheap & Easy Construction Paper Birthday Party Decortations

This post contains affiliate links. I love decorating my house for birthday parties, but I hate spending money.  It has become almost a game for me to come up with cute, creative, and cheap birthday party decorations. Last month Noah turned 2.  Again and again he said he wanted a truck themed birthday.  I followed my #1 cheap birthday party rule, which is to decorate with what I already own.  I used Noah's Melissa & Doug truck as my main inspiration for the party. Red, blue, and yellow streamers and balloons made the house feel festive, but I needed something more to bring out the truck theme of the party.  I decided to create my … [Read more...]
