My Goals for 2022: Mid-Year Check In

August 1, 2022 by Rebekah Hoffer 3 Comments

After being in pure survival mode for the last two years, I was ready to do more than just survive. I wanted to start making forward progress again. I started by compiling a list of goals for the year. I broke down my goals into 5 categories: body & mind, house, family & photos, media & entertainment, and work. Now that we are a little over halfway through the year, it is time for a mid-year check in. This post contains affiliate link. My Goals for 2022: Mid-Year Check In Body & Mind Gynecologist Check Up & Mammogram - I did both of these in January. Fix My Shoulder - I was diagnosed with frozen … [Read more...]

My Goals for 2022

January 23, 2022 by Rebekah Hoffer 9 Comments

Confession: I do not enjoy goal setting. I don't like the disapointment that comes from not hitting my goals. I don't usually find goals to be motivating. Instead, I feel guilty that I'm not doing enough to meet them. You could say that I don't have a great relationship with productivity, goals, and possibility of failure. Eeek. Did this just turn into a therapy session??? It is pretty rare that I am inspired to sit down and write out a list of goals, and when I do, it is usually a list of very specific and manageable tasks. I lean more towards a detailed to-do list rather than big picture, life changing goals. Time for … [Read more...]

Insane Goals: December 2013 Update & Closing Thoughts

Insane Goals

This post contains affiliate links. Last January I wrote a crazy-long list of goals for the year.  Each month I looked over the list and wrote an update on my accomplishments and disappointments.  I haven't posted an update since the end of September.  Today I want to share what I accomplished in the past 3 moths and my closing thoughts for the year. October-December Accomplishments: 1. The children knocked over my jewelry box and everything went flying.  That forced me to organize it.  It was hard, but I got rid of some things that I hadn't worn in years.  Ultimately, I would like to replace my jewelry box with another kind of … [Read more...]

Insane Goals: September 2013 Update

September 30, 2013 by Rebekah Hoffer 2 Comments

I wrote a crazy-long list of goals for this year.  Here is how I did last month on my Insane Goals. September Accomplishments: Well, well, well...  I didn't do a single thing off of my Insane Goals list in September.  Part of me wants to hang my head in shame.  However, I did... Celebrate my 8th wedding anniversary Rejoice after my brother-in-law's successful open heart surgery Plan and pack for a vacation at the beach Plan and organize Grace's 4th birthday party Plan all of my blog posts for the month of October (I almost never plan ahead!) Start taking both kids to story time at the library Try to get back into the … [Read more...]

Insane Goals: August 2013 Update

Insane Goals

I wrote a crazy-long list of goals for this year.  Here is how I did last month on my Insane Goals. August Accomplishments: 1. We had a radon mitigation system installed!  Radon is a naturally occurring, harmful gas that comes into your house from the soil.  It is very common in PA.  When we bought the house our levels were low, but just over the recommended amount.  We finally got the system installed and now we are radon free! 2. I canned salsa and pickles.  I froze corn and applesauce.  The only thing I haven't done yet is make jam.  I'm not sure if I'll get to that one this year. 3. I added band aids and wet-wipes to our van's … [Read more...]

Insane Goals: July 2013 Update

Blue Berries

I wrote a crazy-long list of goals for this year.  Here is how I did last month on my Insane Goals. July Accomplishments: 1. I cleaned and reorganized the attic.  Friends are storing some things in our attic while they look for a new house and this was the perfect motivation to finally get up there. 2. I canned bread & butter and dill pickles.  I also froze 40 pounds of blue berries.  (The box pictured above is 20 lbs.)  Of course my children ate about 150 pounds worth while I was cleaning them, but I still got 17 quart size bags into my freezer. 3. I put an emergency kit/bucket in the van.  It only includes the bucket, some … [Read more...]
