April 8, 2015 by Rebekah Hoffer Leave a Comment

Breastfeeding advice from a mom with 4 years of breastfeeding experience.

I nursed my children for a combined total of 48 months. That is 4 solid years of breastfeeding experience! In that time I learned just how beautiful breastfeeding can be. I also learned a lot about the technical and emotional side of nursing a baby. My Blog’s Biggest Secret

My Blog's Biggest Secret

This post contains affiliate links. I started this blog in December 2009. Only a few short months later I wrote a post that changed my blog in ways that I could have never imagined. Suddenly this blog became bigger than a place for me to share my thoughts on saving money and living a natural life. It became a lifeline to women desperately searching for answers to the devastating question "why does my breast milk taste bad?". It all started because my 5 month old daughter, Grace, refused to take a bottle when I was gone. I was frustrated. My husband was frustrated. Babysitters were frustrated and poor little Grace was very … [Read more...]

Babies Don't Keep: A Benediction to Weaning Moms - If you are sad about weaning from breastfeeding, this is for you!

When talking about weaning from breastfeeding there is a fine balance between being supportive and encouraging someone to wean their child too soon.  Yet, no one nurses forever.  There always has to be an end and sometimes that can be hard. Some moms may mourn the loss of their beautiful, intimate, nursing relationship that they had with their children.  This post is for those moms.  Those moms who are sad.  Those moms who cry at the thought of weaning.  Those moms who are just like me. My Weaning from Breastfeeding Story I weaned both of my children around the age of two.  Despite my struggles with extended breastfeeding and even my … [Read more...]

14 Things You Need for Your Postpartum Body: a pre-baby shopping list for mommy!

This post contains affiliate links. Diapers?  Check.  Onesies?  Check.  Car seat?  Check.  Things to help you take care of your postpartum body?  Umm... When I was pregnant with Grace, I came up with a list of questions for all of my mom friends.  I asked for advice about different registry items, handling guests at the hospital, favorite pregnancy books, and more.  The very last question was, "What else do I need to know?  What did I forget?"  Again and again my friends pointed out that I had forgotten about me. If you are expecting your first baby, don't forget to add some must … [Read more...]
