Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my 28th birthday. I decided to log how I spent my day. Lucky for me, for fun is to come because I am going to my sister’s tonight for a special birthday meal and my in-laws want to have me over next week sometime!

8:15 AM – Wake up to Nate wishing me a happy birthday. He made me breakfast! He frosted one of my sister’s homemade cinnamon rolls and made our favorite tea, Boston mint. Then he went and got Grace out of bed, who had JUST woken up. It was perfect!

8:30 AM – Started feeding Grace while watching the season premier of The Biggest Looser, which I had recorded from last night.

9:10 AM – Grace & I prayed for our friends who have a very important medical appointment this morning.

12:30 – Arrived at a friend’s house to have lunch with church friends. I am was surprised by the extra guests, but that made it extra special!

3:00 – Back at home to enjoy hazelnut coffee and Ellen.

4:00 – My brother-in-law came by for a short visit.

6:30 – Dropped Grace off at my sister’s house so that Nate & I could have little date night to celebrate. We started off by eating at a Chinese restaurant. Check out the fortune cookie that I got! If that doesn’t scream stay-at-home-mom, then I don’t know what does! Plus I thought the word on the back was really odd. Whoever says “gooseberry” in English!??

7:30 – Nate & I saw the movie “Up in the Air.” It was nominated for “Best Picture” for the Golden Globes. It was pretty good. I think I liked “Avatar” better, but it was still a good film.

10:00 – Back at home with Grace in bed. It was a really good day… Until I checked my email… Please say a prayer for my friends who just found out their 3 year old son has cancer.

  1. Hey Rebekah, I just got your link from your mom. Happy Birthday a day late. Your birthday went better than mine (Jan 3). Owen was sick so I was caring for an ill toddler all day.

Your mom told me about your blog because I just told her about my new blog. Stop by sometime —www.jreneearcher.blogspot.com

    Take care—
    Jennifer

  2. Sounds like you had a great birthday. Ellen was hilarious yesterday too, so a bonus on your birthday! Love your fortune, that should be framed (in a cute tiny frame) and hung up in your kitchen somewhere. 🙂

  3. I really enjoyed talking to you on Thursday–the day after your birthday. Last year I decided to call all my nieces on their birthday. It was so much fun listening to their surprised reaction when they got my call wishing them a Happy Birthday. I decided to go it again this year–what a wonderful way to stay in touch with all my nieces. I loved it! Just listening to you and hearing you say how much you enjoy taking care of Grace everyday brought back all the memories of staying home all day with that first baby. I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Take care.
