Insane Goals: April Update
Another month has past.  Here is how I did with my list of goals last month.
April Accomplishments:
1.  This month instead of having a couple or family over to meet our hosting goal, I threw Nate a birthday party!  Since the party included 11 adults and 6 kids, I figured that would count for the month.  😉
2. Â Grace and I made it all the way through her baby Bible. Â We started a new children’s bible storybook, but I haven’t been as consistent as I was with the other one.
3. Â Nate & I enjoyed a fun double date night with friends. Â Both husbands have birthdays in the same week, so we celebrated by trying out Red Robin for the first time.
4.  I was hoping that we could buy some patio furniture this year, but now it looks like we won’t have to.  Nate was blessed with some as a birthday gift from his parents!  If anyone else wants to take over any of my goals, just let me know.  😀
5.  Grace has been doing even better with the stairs this month.  I’m officially considering this an accomplished task.  Brushing her teeth in the morning is another story.
6. Â My biggest accomplishment this month was to reorganize the bathroom. Â We were struggling with storage space until we purchased a cabinet last month. Â This month I went through everything and tried to rethink how things were being organized. Â I can’t believe I was able to purge 48 things from my bathroom!
One thing that really helped my organization of the bathroom was to take 2 empty boxes from My Do-NOT-Go-In-There Guest Room Overhaul and used 1 to organize my stock pile of bathroom supplies and the other for odd thing like shoe polish and travel items.
April Disappointments:
1. Â I hate my garden.
2. Â I did a bad job sending out cards this month. Â In honor of that, I would like to take this moment to say, “Happy Anniversary!” to my sister and her husband. Â Ha!
3. Â I didn’t have a single “me night” in April. Â I can feel it. Â My patience is running low. Â I’ve gotta get out of this house!
4. Â My cleaning checklist is still a huge help to me, but I really felt myself slacking off this month. Â The house still looked fine, but there were many boxes left unchecked this month.
5. Overall, this month feels disappointing.  Sure, I have 6  accomplishments listed, but I’m pretty bummed about my garden.  I’m hoping that next month I can do more with my photographs and personal goals.

Goals for Grace
- Continue to limit her pacifier use to only in the crib & eventually wean from crib use.
- Develop a better routine for giving her a daily vitamin & brushing her teeth in the morning. Â I just can’t seem to nail down a solid time for this each day.
- Have Grace drink milk from her sippy cup.  She currently loves drinking water from it, but isn’t impressed with the frozen breast milk I’ve been giving her.
- Work on her stairs climbing skills so we can get to a place where we feel comfortable with her going up & down the stairs on her own.
- Have devotions from her “baby” Bible.
Personal & Spiritual Goals
- Drink more water.
- Exercise at least a little!
- Eat more fruit instead of sugar & chocolate.
- Read daily devotions.
- Increase personal prayer time & prayer time with Nate.
- Schedule more time for myself.
- Schedule monthly date nights with hubby.
Each month I will check in and let you  know how I’m coming on my insanely long list of goals. I hope that with you keeping me accountable that I’ll be able to accomplish great things this year!
We may be twins after all. My list would look surprisingly similar! I honestly feel so much better seeing what goals you have yet to check off your list. Have you checked out the 3 in 30 challenge? It’s helping me make a dent in my list and helping me stay on track with the most important – staying in the Word!
Audra, I am really impressed with all those 3 in 30 ladies! I didn’t hear about it until I already had my insane list typed out and the idea of trying to fit my goals into the 3 a month formate just didn’t seem easy to me. Or maybe I was too lazy to think about it that way. 😉
Do you have a devotional that you are using? I started using one this year and I wasn’t impressed. I would love to hear your suggestions if you have any.
