Confession: I do not enjoy goal setting. I don't like the disapointment that comes from not hitting my goals. I don't usually find goals to be motivating. Instead, I feel guilty that I'm not doing enough to meet them. You could say that I don't have a great relationship with productivity, goals, and possibility of failure. Eeek. Did this just turn into a therapy session??? It is pretty rare that I am inspired to sit down and write out a list of goals, and when I do, it is usually a list of very specific and manageable tasks. I lean more towards a detailed to-do list rather than big picture, life changing goals. Time for … [Read more...]
Where Have I Been??? (Hoffer Family Update)
I have thought about how to write this blog post at least a dozen times. I'm still not 100% sure what I want to say, but after not posting anything new in this space for 9 months - it is time. After being in this blogging world for 12 years, I have seen many of my favorite bloggers quietly disappear. It always made me a bit sad to be invested in someone's life and then to never hear from them again. I've always sworn to myself that I wouldn't go quietly. They are my everyday. They are my here and my now. They are a day in my life. I’ve given myself an amazing gift to be able to look back at a typical day from the past years and see the changes from year to year. The gift of being able to see the extraordinary in my everyday routine because the truth is … [Read more...]
You’re Never Gonna Let Me Down?
Before the pandemic, quarantine, masks, and the stress of "new normal," I was standing in church and singing a song that was always hard for me to sing. It was hard to sing because the words were hard to believe. The song was King of My Heart by Bethel Music. It starts out easy enough. Let the King of my heartBe the mountain where I runThe fountain I drink fromOh, He is my songLet the King of my heartBe the shadow where I hideThe ransom for my lifeOh, He is my song Then the chorus comes in with the repeated declaration that God is good. At this point, I am still singing along just fine because God is good. His blessings … [Read more...]
Amazon Swimsuit Haul: Hits & Misses
I ordered a bunch of Amazon swimsuits trying to find ones that would be cute, yet flattering. I even pushed myself outside my comfort zone, and tried some two piece options.
