How to Enjoy Candles Longer

I love burning scented candles in my house.  I don’t love it when the candle burns unevenly and leaves behind a wall of wax in my jar candles.  I used to throw these candles away as soon as I reached the end of the wick.  I used to.

Now I enjoy my unevenly burned candles longer by using a small hot plate.  I set the candle on the plate, let the wax melt, fish out the end of the wick, and let the scent fill the room.  By using a hot plate, the candle can be enjoyed without it’s wick time and time again!

You can find candle warmers in many stores.  They even sell wick-less candles.  However, I was pleased to get the same results without making a special purchase.

If anything, I’m thrilled not to feel so stupid about keeping my hot plate from the office job I left in 2007!!  Ha!

Are you a year round candle burner?  Have you ever tried this hot plate method with your old candles?

Oh I LOVE my candle warmer!! I can buy the really expensive candles that smell really, really good and they last for MONTHS using the warmer. Mine broke recently and I’m going to replace it. I actually got mine for $5 at WalMart. 🙂

Oooooh! That is a good tip! Buy the really good candles, but save money on your splurge by using a warmer! Love it!

Shame on me.. I didn’t know that there’s a candle warmer! This is cool! I should look for this too!
