An Alternative to Wrapping Paper (Part 1)

Being the thrifty gal that I am, I was on the lookout for a good deal when I was shopping for Christmas wrapping paper a few years ago.  Little did I know, the two rolls I bought would have enough paper on them to last me for all of ETERNITY!

I am so sick of this wrapping paper!

Here are my gifts from last year in 2009:

Isn’t my baby cute!  Also, all that white outside the window is actually snow!  We got a huge storm that day, but I digress… back to the wrapping paper…

And here are my gifts under our cute little tree in 2008:

And here is an adorable picture of my niece & nephew from 2007:

Wait…  What is that in the background?  Zoom in…

Right there!  In the bottom corner, you can see my wrapping paper on gifts from 2007!  2007, folks!!

Surely after three years of using this same wrapping paper it must be at least close to being gone….  WRONG!!!!

I’m telling you, this stuff is like the loaves & fishes!

I am refusing to use it this year.  Check back Friday to see my alternative wrapping paper for this year.

So am I the only one who is sick of their wrapping paper?

  1. That’s why I’m dragging you into Hallmark tonight – I think It’s buy one get one free for wrapping paper- do you still have your $10 coupon? I do! Whoot!

  2. HAHAHA! That just means you’re not buying big enough gifts! Actually one way to get rid of it is to take your gift and wrap it, then put it in a bigger box and wrap that, and so forth and so on until you’re tired of wrapping… it’s something Brian and I do to amuse ourselves since we don’t usually have much money to buy lots of things this time of the year! 🙂

  3. A couple years ago I stocked up on several rolls of wrapping paper after Christmas when they were cheap. Like you, I want to use up what I have before opening a bunch of new rolls. Those rolls have been hanging out in the closet for two or three years waiting to see the Christmas tree!

  4. I like to change up my wrapping paper every year or so. So…I do have quite a collection of those giant rolls of paper that go on sale after Christmas. But! This year I found these cute little rolls at Target. They are only 17″ high. But they have 40 square feet of paper on the rolls! Oh! And they were only a dollar. I think that’s a good deal! I love them! It is so much easier to store these little rolls than the giant ones!

  5. I have a roll of wrapping paper going on 8 years! And for the first time in the past few years did I buy more at the dollar store. I tried to pick one that would work for all occasions (that’s hard during Christmas). I guess I do’t really have occasions to wrap for.

  6. Use your Wrapping Paper you’ve had for so long for making Iris Folding Cards, you’ll have a BLAST,I DO~~
