Before & After Pictures: My Messy Freezer

My sister came over on Monday and she wanted to put something in my freezer.

I cringed.

“Umm…  good luck!” I warned her.

My freezer had gotten to the point where I would open the door slowly so I could catch anything that was falling out.  It needed some attention.  Today I decided to do something about it!

Before Picture: Messy Freezer

My scary please-tell-me-I’m-not-the-only-one before picture!

After Picture: Clean Freezer

My wow-that-took-me-less-than-15-minutes-why-didn’t-I-do-it-earlier after picture!

How did I do it?

  1. Moved Things to my Deep Freezer: breast milk, baby food, & freezer meals
  2. Threw Things Away: expired food, scary looking vegetables, & old bread (yes, I know I should have used it!)
  3. Emptied Containers: a smoothie from 2 months ago & cookies from Christmas
  4. Rearranged the Chaos

This project was simple, fast, and had great results.  I need to do more of these things.

How is the status of your freezer?  What chaos can you solve today in 15 minutes or less?

You are one brave mama! And no–you’re not the only one!

I’ve learned I need to spend that 15 minutes every time I bring groceries home. It’s been probably 6 months or so and I must confess, I still have times I have to open the door slowly, but they are starting to become fewer and farther inbetween!

Now if I could just spend 15 minutes a week on my entryway closet! or my Tupperware/storage container cupboard ; )

Eh – I’m not so brave. I just have a strange love for before & after pictures. haha!!

So come on, Nikki! Let me see some pictures of your disaster zones!!! Let’s see what kind of a difference 15 minutes can make in your closet today. 🙂

You are definitely not the only one. I duck and cover every time I open mine. Something inevitably always falls out on a toe. Ouch! Come to think of it, the same thing happens with my tupperware cupboard. 🙂

Rosann, I would suggest that you work on that tupperware cupboard today, but you are one of those crazy 31 days ladies! You probably have your hands full with posting every day this month. Then again…. Maybe a supermom would have organized tupperware…. hmmm… I see a blog post coming! Haha!

I’m right there with Nikki, when I do large shopping trips I clean out as I go. It keeps the fridge and freezer organized.

Shh…. don’t tell my mom – I sold the deep freezer she got me. I used it for a year. She paid $20 for it at a garage sale. We got a used fridge/freezer for my hubby’s brewing. Between that freezer and our regular freezer, I have enough room (and can’t stand the thought of spending more on electricity for an old freezer!). With that said, I REALLY need to organize. Things are a mess and we’re planning a trip to a local farm to get some grass-fed beef!

Oooooo! I am jealous of that grass-fed beef! I have been wanting to buy part of a cow for a couple years, but it is hard to pay that much money up front. Enjoy it!

My freezer is in a similar state as your “before” picture. In spite of that, my 3 yo dd was sitting on my lap as I browsed through your blog. She said, ‘what is all that trash?’ It cracked me up because MINE looks the SAME. I need to straighten it up! 🙂
