Christmas and The New Year
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I’m just a tad bit late, but that is just how life goes sometimes. My family traveled to Ohio for Christmas this year. We arrived on December 22 and we are still here! Nate went back home on New Year’s Day, but the kids and I stayed so my parents could get in some quality bonding time since my mom is now retired.
This past week has been amazing. We wake up, I get the kids dressed, we eat breakfast, and then I get to disappear and work on the blog and my eBook while my mom enjoys Grace and Noah. I have gotten so much done on my book. I am hoping to release it (and all the fun details) in a few months.
Today I offered to cook supper, but my mom said no because she is worried I’m not going to get all my work done while I’m here. Do you have any idea how amazing that is?!?!
I’m not cooking. I’m not cleaning. I’m not paying bills. I’m not changing diapers from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
I might not ever come home.
Of course with the weather we’ve been having, I might actually be “snowed in” here until spring!
Here are some highlights of our Christmas this year.
This is Grace at our church’s candlelight service on Christmas Eve.
We took Grace to see Frozen. It was her very first time at a movie theater. Her excitement was adorable.
This little stinker has been obsessed with playing with the microwave and coffee maker. Thankfully he hasn’t figured out how to turn them on!
Along with all the Christmas fun and writing my book, I’ve also been dreaming up fun things for the blog. Coming up soon is my 4th Annual A Day in the Life of… Link-Up. If you’ve ever wanted to document an average day in your life, now is the time!
I would love to hear what you would enjoy from Simply Rebekah in 2014. Ultimately, I hope you will find inspiration in my posts. Please let me a comment or shoot me an email and share what types of posts you love (or hate!) the most. If you are reading this in an email, you can hit reply to send me your thoughts.
Happy New Year!
We took my 3 in a month year old daughter to see Frozen as well as her first movie over Christmas break. She loved it as well. Such a fun memory.
Deanna, wasn’t it just the cutest? 🙂 I thought there were several parts of the story that probably went over my daughter’s head. I kept whispering things to her. Like the part about the prince wanting to marry into the family just for the crown. I don’t think Grace had any idea what that was all about. Did you have to explain things to your little girl?
It was so cute! We got to go with my siblings still at my parents so that made it even more special. Kenna is at that stage where she is asking why about everything so she had a few questions during the movie. 🙂 And I’m sure a lot of it she didn’t understand at all. I’m looking forward to watching it again when it comes out on dvd.
Have you seen the video of the two little girls singing one of the songs??? I saw it today and couldn’t stop giggling at them. It was so adorable. You could probably find it on YouTube pretty easily.
I can’t wait for Day in the Life!
I’m impressed that you took your pictures already, Dorothy!
