10 Best Kid-Friendly Soup Recipes for Cozy Days that the Whole Family will LOVE!

From my personal recipe collection to the best Pinterest finds, here are my 10 best kid-friendly soup recipes that I have made for my family again and again.

Most of these recipes are extremely mild, but there may be times when you want to adjust the ingredients (green chiles, red pepper flakes, curry) to make these kid-friendly soup recipes suite your family’s needs.

10 Best Kid-Friendly Soup Recipes

kid-friendly soup recipes: taco soup

1) Taco Soup (freezer friendly)

This recipe was originally discovered by my aunt years ago. She had the taco soup at a cute little restaurant and the owner shared the recipe with her. Since then it has been pass around throughout my family and well beyond.

It is naturally mild enough to be kid friendly. It is impressive enough to serve to guests. Plus it is freezer friendly!

Ingredient Highlights: tomato juice, ground beef, beans, corn, taco seasoning

2) Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice (crockpot)

This is my favorite Pinterest discovery of all time. It is easy, nourishing, and filling. I have made it for guests many times. It is a WINNER.

Ingredient Highlights: chicken, wild rice, carrots, half and half

kid-friendly soup recipes: zuppa toscana

3) Zuppa Toscana (freezer friendly)

This savory soup is a knock off of the popular soup served at Olive Garden. The recipe makes a large amount, which makes it perfect for freezing. Enjoy the zuppa toscana soup with some italian bread, and freeze your leftovers for another day.

Ingredient Highlights: sausage, potatoes, kale, heavy cream

4) Cheddar Broccoli Potato

Made with whole foods, this recipe is unbelievably good. There is a lot of vegetable chopping involved, but it is worth it!

Ingredient Highlights: broccoli, potatoes, carrots, thyme, heavy cream, cheddar cheese

beef vegetable soup

5) Beef Vegetable

My husband said this was the best beef vegetable soup he has ever had. I make it after I make a roast and use the leftover roast in the soup. Easy and frugal!

Ingredient Highlights: roast beef, frozen mixed veggies, potatoes, bay leaves, tomato sauce, italian seasoning

kid-friendly soup recipes: loaded baked potato soup

6) Loaded Baked Potato (crockpot)

This soup calls for a bag of frozen hash browns, which makes the whole recipe so easy to put together. Top it with bacon, and you have a thick, creamy soup perfect for cold nights.

Ingredient Highlights: hash browns, cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, bacon, cheddar cheese

7) Hearty Potato

The green chilies in this soup give it a different flavor than the loaded baked potato soup. I leave the chilies out for my kids because they are huge whimps when it comes to spice.

Ingredient Highlights: potatoes, carrots, basil, sour cream, green chilies, cheddar cheese

kid-friendly soup recipes: tomato basil parmesan soup

8) Tomato Basil Parmesan (crockpot)

This soup feels like a grownup, fancier version of most tomato soup recipes. It is a good soup for passing along to someone in need. It travels and reheats well.

Ingredient Highlights: diced tomatoes, carrots, basil, oregano, parmesan cheese, half and half

9) White Bean Chicken Chili (crockpot)

This recipe has a tiny bit of spice, but it pairs perfectly with the sour cream, cheese, and chips on top. Plus it is really filling.

Ingredient Highlights: chicken, white beans, green chiles, salsa, cumin

chicken curry and rice soup

10) Chicken Curry and Rice

This recipe is similar to a classic chicken and rice soup, but with a twist. I made this recipe for the first time last year, and my husband declared it his favorite soup of all time.

Ingredient Highlights: chicken, rice, carrots, milk, curry

What are your favorite kid-friendly soup recipes?
