Delicious, but Cheap At Home Date Night Idea with Home Chef

Is anyone else feeling a bit desperate for a date night? This has certainly been a crazy year, and getting creative with date nights is more important than ever. Home Chef is the perfect cheap at home date night solution.

I’ve used Home Chef several times now. In fact, my next order is coming next week. I am looking forward to making shrimp primavera and steak & broccoli lo mein. We have loved every Home Chef meal we’ve made.

By the way, I have a fun free printable to go along with your at home date night. Keep reading to find out more.

Home Chef Bacon & Cheddar Jack Meatloaf

Stay in and enjoy a delicious, but cheap at home date night with Home Chef.

Home Chef is a meal kit delivery service. You pick the recipes you want to make. They send you everything you need to prepare amazing, restaurant worthy meals at home.

Home Chef is offering new customers $90 off, which makes Home Chef a cheap at home date night option worthy of trying. You will get $30 off your first two boxes and $15 off your third & fourth box.

With this promotion, you can try Home Chef for less than $20 shipped. You’ll get 2 meals for less than the cost of 1 takeout meal!

You are not required to order all 4 boxes. However, any unused credit will expire after 60 days.

Home Chef Promotion - get 2 meals for just $19.80 shipped!

How does Home Chef & the special discount work?

Step 1: Click this link and the $90 off promotion is automatically applied. Make sure the green bar at the top of your screen says, “Voucher code successfully applied for $90 off.”

Step 2: Enter email address. They will send you order updates, menu updates, and future promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Step 3: Pick the number of portions (2,4, or 6) & number of meals per week (2-6). If you pick 4 or more portions, shipping is free. If you pick 2 portions, shipping is free with 3 or more meals per week.

Home Chef Menu Preferences

Step 4: Indicate food preferences. You can select if you are interested in vegetarian, low-calorie, or low-carb. You can also list foods to avoid. Each week’s menu features 18+ different meal options, but your choices will be more limited if you indicate different food preferences in this section.

Step 5: Enter shipping information, and pick your first delivery date. You will be charged for this delivery upon checkout. Your preferred weekly delivery day can be changed anytime. You don’t need to be home when your meals are delivered.

Step 6: Enter payment information. With the $90 off promotion, the cheapest option is 2 meal per week with 2 portions per meal.

At this point in the process, you will be charged for your first delivery. Yes, this happens before you can pick your meals, which I don’t like.

For all future deliveries, you will be charged the Friday before your order arrives. You can choose to skip a future delivery by the Friday before the delivery date at noon CST.

Is Home Chef affordable for date nights at home?

Step 7: Pick your meals. Most meal options are $9.95 per serving, but they also have salad entrees options for just $6.99 per serving. The amount your credit card is charged will be adjusted depending on the price of the meals you select.

Tips From My Home Chef Experiences

  • Order the crispy orange chicken. We have loved every single meal, but the orange chicken has been our number one favorite. I also highly recommend the bacon & cheddar-jack meatloaf.
  • Try recipes you don’t normally make. The best part about Home Chef is trying out meals that go beyond our usual meal plan.
  • Pay attention to the experience level of the recipes before ordering. For easier meals, you’ll want to avoid the “expert” level recipes.
  • Kids love the food, too! Although Home Chef is perfect for at home date nights, we have always ordered enough to feed our kids. Four portions per meal has been plenty for my young family of five.
  • To avoid surprise boxes/charges, skip weeks. It is super easy to skip several weeks, and then come back later to “unskip” a week.
