Top 10 Summer Favorites You Need

It is time for sunglasses, pool splashes, and sharing my Summer favorites. From a swimsuit I can wear with confidence, to the perfect binge for you and one for kids, to an easy vacation meal planning solution, these are Summer suggestions you don’t want to miss.
My Top 10 Summer Favorites

1. Holipick Tankini Swimsuit from Amazon
I purchased this swimsuit from Amazon last Summer, and I still love it. I feel confident in it because it isn’t clingy. Plus, the boy shorts offer a lot of coverage while still being a bit sexy. It comes in sizes XS to 22 Plus.
One tip: The backside of the printed fabric suits is white, which looked very odd in the navy version I had also purchased. As the ruffles moved, the white lining stood out like a sore thumb. The solid colored suits don’t seem to have this problem.
2. Timeless on Hulu
Looking for a fun show to binge? Timeless is not my typical type of show (I tend to gravitate towards dramas or reality TV), but thoroughly enjoyed this series with mystery, sci-fi, action, history, and a touch of romance.
Timeless’s plot line centers around the villain, Flynn, who has stolen a time machine and is trying to change history. A team of 3, Rufus (time machine pilot), Lucy (historian), and Wyatt (military), chase Flynn throughout time to stop him and preserve history.

3. Thai Chicken Coconut Curry
I am obsessed with this Thai chicken coconut curry recipe. The flavor of the coconut milk and curry is to die for, but my obsession goes beyond the flavor.
I also love this recipe because:
- It is made on the stove, not the oven. Great for warmer weather.
- All you need is 2 pans, 1 for the curry & 1 for rice. Less mess!
- It is a great way to sneak in a lot of veggies. The recipe calls for carrots and a ton of spinach. I also throw in a bag of frozen cauliflower.
4. Foot Scrubber from Dollar Tree
I struggle with dry skin on my heels during the summer. I’ve used lotion and pumas stones, but the thing that helps the most is a foot scrubber from Dollar Tree. After I take a shower, I grab the scrubber, and use it on my feet over a trash can while the skin on my feet is soft.
It has 3 scrubbing options, plus a brush to wipe away the dead skin. The surprising thing is that out of the 3 scrub options, the one you think would work the least, actually works the best for me.
There is a pumas stone, metal bumpy side, and an emory board (like a nail file). The file is the key! It isn’t a miracle worker, but this $1 tool from Dollar Tree has made a big difference.

5. Time & Tru Knit Dress from Walmart
I lived in this swing dress last Summer. It is stretchy, soft, and has pockets! POCKETS! At just $9.96, it is the perfect Summer uniform. It comes in sizes XS to XXXL.
My favorite time to throw on this dress was after being at the pool or on super hot days. I always wear a breathable pair of jockey slipshorts underneath to avoid the dreaded chub rub.
6. On The Island by Tracy Garvis Graves
On The Island is a intriguing Summer romance. A plane goes down in the Maldives, and leaves TJ and his tutor, Anna, stranded on a desert island.
The author does a great job building the romance between TJ and Anna while also focusing on their struggle to survive living on the island. Will one or both of them die before they are rescued? If they are rescued, what will that mean for their unconventional relationship?
This is an open-door romance. In a closed-door romance, the reader gets all of the hype, but the actual details of any intimacy is done off the page or behind closed doors. In an open-door romance, the reader is brought into the bedroom.
Due to the age difference between TJ and Anna, and the fact that this is an open-door romance, this book may not be suited for everyone. You’ve been warned.

7. Swing-N-Slide Nest Swing
We have owned this nest swing for almost a year, and the kids use it daily. Every time I check on the kids, one, two, or all three, will be playing on it. The swing can hold up to 200 pounds. I highly recommend it for a fun swing set upgrade that will be one of your kids’ Summer favorites.
8. LEGO Masters on Hulu
This reality TV show competition premiered on FOX this past February, and my kids LOVED it. Each team is given several hours to create epic LEGO creations based off of a new theme each week. The things they come up with are incredibly impressive. You have to see it to believe it.
I highly recommend bingeing the show with your kids, but I also recommend making your own competitions at home. We have done 2 rounds of this, and loved it so much that we added doing a 3rd round to our summer fun list.
The first time we did this, Grace and Noah worked together for 1 hour to create a zoo. At the halfway mark, I swooped in with a twist! It needed to be a zoo for animals to visit people. The second time we did this, they created a vehicle and the twist was that it needed to fly.

9. Meal Delivery Kits
I have become a huge fan of meal delivery kits. I’ve tried a couple, researched several more, and I’ve come to the conclusion that Home Chef is the one I recommend the most. You can read all about my experience with Home Chef here.
I am putting Home Chef on my top 10 list for 2 reasons:
- At Home Date Nights – As many of us are still choosing to stay home, you can get 2 date night worthy meals for just $15.
- Easy Vacation Meal Planning – My friend Donna is taking a Home Chef box with her on vacation instead of eating out every single night. I think this is so brilliant, that I plan to do the same thing on our beach vacation.

10. Ms Lovely Satin Robe from Amazon
This soft, silky robe is elevating my style in the mornings. I have enjoyed wearing a robe in the mornings during the winter months, but this is my first time trying a “Summer robe.”
The short, floral, Kimono style robe is only $15 on Amazon. It comes in sizes XS to XL. Plus, the robe has pockets! I wish the pockets were deeper, but otherwise I am really pleased with this silky addition to my Summer routine.

I love TIMELESS!! I watched it when it was on network tv. Then they cancelled it….booooo! Then the fans rallied and they brought it back for one season. Not long enough, but it was something! I love learning and watching at the same time!
Thanks for this great list. Added the book to read and learned about slip shorts.
Happy summer!!
Timeless really was a show that seemed to be cut short. I was still left with several questions at the end. It would have been fun to see things play out more.
Part of me wonders if the show might be doing better as a series to binge rather than watch live. It felt a bit complicated to remember all the details, and I think I might have been lost at times if I was watching it live.
What a great list!
